Description

The Eddie Mannix ledger accounts for reissue revenue within the original season of release. For example, the ledger allocates the $234,000 in domestic rentals that Manhattan Melodrama earned in its 1937 reissue to the revenue and profitability of the 1934 season (the year that film was originally released). Because I wanted to get a better grasp on the difference that reissues made to the bottom line in their year of reissue, I reallocated the reissue revenue to the appropriate year. These adjustments are reflected in the adjustments noted within this spreadsheet. Is this new dataset perfect? No, but I think it's slightly better. In the end, we have to try to do our best with the evidence that we have.
